Cancer Ward

Cancer Ward - Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, Nicholas William Bethell, David F. Burg

A story about patients in a Soviet cancer ward... how could that be uplifting? Yet it is! Solzhenitsyn’s characters are always fascinating, always memorable. They ponder the great questions of life, the human condition, the nature of the world, morality, love, hope, pain. His books are satisfying to me in the same way as the great classics - they make me think. Highly recommended.
