a measure of relatedness between two antigenic substances
When my son saw me reading Uglies he said, "Oh yeah, that’s the book all the girls were reading in middle school. They thought it was sooooo deep." I guess that should have told me something.
Another dystopian society. This time the powers-that-be have decided that making everyone “pretty” will remove all bias based on outward appearance, eliminate jealousy, and promote contentment. It’s an interesting premise and a good way to explore themes of social pressure and conformity. I can see why middle school girls would like this, but it just didn’t have the adult-appeal of other YA books I’ve read. I have no plans to continue on with Pretties.
